About 308nm Xecl Excimer Light

The 308nm excimer light is a single-frequency light with a wavelength of 308nm produced by xenon chloride gas as the medium. The wavelength is close to NB-UVB, but the energy is 5-10 times higher than that. It can activate the differentiation, maturation and migration of hair follicles and skin melanocyte stem cells, and induce T lymphocyte death, promoting the restoration of white spots.

308nm excimer light is currently one of the most advanced phototherapy technologies for the treatment of vitiligo(the other one is the 308nm excimer laser which is most used in hospitals), and it is also the phototherapy device for the treatment of vitiligo approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

308nm excimer light can also be safely used for the treatment of special parts including eyelids, lips, external genitalia, perianal area, etc., but patients with photosensitive diseases are not suitable for irradiation.

Two Treatment Modes for Your Preference: Time/Dose Mode

There are two modes for your treatment choice, you may choose time mode or dose mode as per your own situation under the guidance of your dermatologist. Before starting each treatment, you can first select the dose mode to set the total dose, or select the time mode to set the total exposure time. When the set parameters are used up, it means that the treatment is over and the machine will automatically stop working. There is no need to worry about accidental excessive exposure, it saves trouble and worry, bringing you a comfortable and energy-saving irradiation experience.

Visible Treatment Effect

Different from the 308nm NB-UVB LED light, the single irradiation time of the 308nm excimer light is calculated with seconds. Additionally, the excimer light is emitted in a planar state, with uniform irradiation, ensuring that every point of a diseased area can be evenly irradiated.

Usually, most users can observe darkening of the pigmentation at the edge of the white spot and the appearance of pigment islands on their skin within 2-4 weeks. Normally, erythema may occur locally after treatment, which generally lasts for about 24 to 48 hours and can basically disappear.

Attention Tips for Using 308nm Excimer Light Phototherapy

• 308nm excimer light is suitable for patients of all ages from infants to the elderly. It can also be safely used for the treatment of special parts including eyelids, lips, external genitalia, and perianal areas.
• Patients with solar dermatitis, lupus erythematosus, malignant tumors, xeroderma pigmentosum, Bloom syndrome, dermatomyositis, pregnant women, and other patients who are not suitable for ultraviolet irradiation treatment, etc. are not suitable for this irradiation.
• Please remember to put on the anti-uv goggles before turn on the machine!
• Avoid skin trauma and friction, and patients should not wear tight clothes.
• Patients should wear sunscreen when going out and avoid strong sunlight after treatment, such as swimming at low-latitude beaches or traveling in high-altitude areas. Special attention should be paid to the fact that ultraviolet rays can damage the skin and induce and aggravate the condition.
• Avoid chemical stimulation. Patients should not dye their hair or paint their nails, and their hands should not often come into contact with irritating chemicals.
• Patients should eat a normal and balanced diet without any dietary restrictions. Try to reduce or avoid smoking and drinking, and take vitamin drugs.
